Wondercore Island is an independent Australian record label and creative studio founded in 2013. Over the past decade, it has helped shape the country’s contemporary music landscape by releasing and developing artists who sit at the edges of jazz, soul, electronic and experimental sounds. From early work with Hiatus Kaiyote to records by Sampa the Great, Jaala, Oscar Key Sung, The Sweet Enough’s, Simon Mavin, and Clever Austin, Wondercore has acted as both a launchpad and a long-term collaborator for distinctive voices with global reach.

The label operates less like a conventional company and more like an ecosystem: part record label, part artist development house, part creative producer. Alongside releases, Wondercore has staged events, built campaigns, and fostered connections between Australian artists and an international community of listeners, musicians, and cultural partners. Its approach is rooted in curiosity, collaboration, and a belief in music as both art and experiment.

At its core, Wondercore Island is about building space for artists to take risks, make uncompromising work, and reach audiences far beyond genre or geography.
